More Teachers To Be Involved In Mentoring Programme

KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- More Education Ministry staff including teachers will be involved in the public service mentoring programme to increase understanding of human resource.

Education Deputy Minister Dr Mohd Puad Zarkasi said the programme was to ensure that officers have clear understanding of issues, problems and the national development strategy in moulding a respected race.

"It will help ministry staff including teachers to explain current issues to people at the grassroot," he said when closing the civil service mentoring programme here Friday.

Under the programme, senior ministry officers would act as mentor to participants to facilitate understanding of the circular on the application of psychology in human resource management.

"This will help strengthen the teaching profession in meeting the dynamic global change."

Puad said the ministry was committed in transforming technical and vocational education to achieve high skills among the young generation.

"We will help to realise the high income society as mentioned by the prime minister when tabling 10MP recently," he added.

A study by Merdeka Centre also found that majority of the people were satisfied with achievements made under the education National Key Result Areas (NKRA).
